An Update on JOCF Operations
By Siera Carusone | Board Member
Good afternoon, JOCF community,
As we work to address the urgent situation in Uganda, we will be focusing on our core campaigns for a period of time. Your generous contributions allowed us to equip our teams and partner schools with technology that will help us address local concerns with greater efficiency and accuracy. Please keep an eye on for email updates and social media posts about our work to support Engari during this difficult time of international funding cuts. Your support during the Giving Tuesday campaign has allowed us to secure school fees for students in the upcoming semester. However, due to rising costs and limited funding in Uganda, JOCF is in need of support to continue providing healthcare to the most vulnerable.
We thank you for your continued support and we urge you to continue sharing and spreading the word about JOCF. While we continue to face challenges in our own communities, we stand united with our global community in continuing to care for one another.
Thank you,

2025-26 School Year
By Siera Carusone | Board Member
Good morning JOCF Community,
As we roll into the late-summer, we would like to remind you all of the ongoing needs of our Engari students. JOCF is continuing to raise funds for the Computer Literacy Initiative. This project provides desktop computers, technology packages, and computer literacy classes in partnership with local K-12 schools in Engari, Uganda.
You generous contributions have allowed us to provide desktop computers to our high school partner schools. This was our foremost priority to ensure students had access to courses that would prepare them for higher-education and career training. However, there is still a substantial need for technology for students in our elementary level partner schools.
Going into the 2025-26 school year, we ask again, with gratitude, for any contribution you can make towards this goal.
Sincerely,

Continuing to Build Computer Literacy in Uganda
By Siera Carusone | Board Member
Hello JOCF Community,
We thank you again for your support of our new Computer Literacy Program. After successfully purchasing and distributing desktop computers, laptops, and other technology, our partner schools and health facility have been implementing new programs. Students at Bright Future, Solomon Memorial, and Pearl High School have all begun their Computer Literacy courses. JOCF is enthusiastic that these courses will help our students go on to have substantial career opportunities and life skills. Additionally, our parnter health facility HEVIA Uganda has implemented these computers to enhance health data tracking for both individual patients and public health records. This technology is invaluable for ensuring the people of Engari, Uganda have access to quality medical care.
As we move forward with this program, JOCF is setting new goals. While our generous donors have provided us a strong foundation for this new program, we want to increase the accessibility of this technology for our schools and health partners. Further fundraising for this program will go towards providing additional computers and technology to reduce the ratio of students to computers. This will ensure that all students have equal opportunity to access Computer Literacy courses.
As we continue to work with our partners in Engari, we are consistenly grateful to our supporters in North America. Your support has allowed the people of Engari to expand their economic and educational capacity, building new opportunities for their children and the future of the community.
Thank you.
