Youth with Options has launched an innovative methodology in Panama: comprehensive sexuality education, provided by young people and for young people.
Currently, the Monitor of the San Miguelito Youth Group is Yailisbeth Garagate, a 25-year-old psychologist, whose story in APLAFA began when she was 16 years old and together with her sister, Yamirelis Garagate, 13 years old; when they were received by the young people of the group who provided them with timely, scientific and reliable information. For them, Youth with Options "was an experience that marked our lives and futures." They entered the program as volunteers, and currently both are dedicated to supporting young people in their community.
For Yailisbeth, APLAFA helped her "plan my life by putting my education as a priority, develop skills for social interaction, speak in public and defend the rights of all".
Like Yailisbeth and Yamirelis, currently dozens of young people from Youth with Options are dedicated to visiting universities, schools, events and organizations, providing relevant information on family planning methods, sexually transmitted infections, HIV / AIDS and healthy relationships.
Thus, your donations to this project make it easier for information to reach hundreds of young people through our Youth with Options program. In the best way: FROM YOUNG TO YOUNG.
