In response to global climate change, Integrated Agricultural Association (I.A.A) initiated the project to work with the community adults, youths and children of all ages in Kumbo by organizing climate meetings to discuss the implications of deforestation, overuse of chemicals in agriculture, fossil fuels, slash and burnt methods; and educating them on the importance of regenerative agriculture and afforestation.
The overall goal of this project is to create awareness about climate change and its impacts, through organizing climate meetings and providing nature based education for parents and children in the villages of Kumbo. The aim is to fight environmental degradation, food insecurity and protect planet earth for the present generation and generation yet unborn.
To date, I.A.A has established a tree nusery with 5000 trees in the village of Mbuluf and have organized 3 workshops for children, youths and parents. Over 200 people have been impacted with knowledge on the importance trees, afforestation and on how to deal with loss and damage as impacts of climate change. They learnd by doing in filling polythene pots, transplanting, fencing and tree maintenance and climate mitigation and adaptation strategies. I.A.A will continue to establish many tree nurseries in different villages in Kumbo and produce a climate documentary for education. I.A.A is grateful for all the donations made through GlobalGiving to make this work possible, and continue to welcome donation of any amount to continue this incredible work. Your contribution will really make a great difference.
