The Community Health Worker Training Initiative aims to empower local health workers in Ghana with essential knowledge and skills to educate their communities about cancer prevention and care. By enhancing the capacity of community health workers (CHWs), we seek to improve awareness, early detection, and access to cancer resources, ultimately leading to better health outcomes for vulnerable populations.
Community health workers (CHWs) often lack adequate training and resources to effectively educate their communities about cancer-related issues. Without proper training, they may not be equipped to address questions or concerns regarding cancer prevention and care.
By providing comprehensive training on cancer prevention, early detection, and available treatment options, the project equips CHWs with the knowledge and skills necessary to educate their communities effectively.
As trained community health workers (CHWs) continue to educate their communities about cancer, the level of awareness around cancer prevention and early detection will increase over time. This may lead to a cultural shift towards prioritizing health and preventive care.
