Community health Programme in Sundarban

Along with the continuing fear and apprehensions of Covid-19 pandemic remote Sunderbans is now busy again with the business of lives and livelihoods. 

Sabuj Sangha’s dedicated and robust medical team also continued to extend the health services for them through their established ‘Rural Health Centre’ at remote Nandakumarpur village in Mathurapur II namely ‘Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan’ and also with the Outreach Camps organized in the deeper hard to reach areas.

The OPD clinics at our Rural Health Centre- ‘Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan’ remained operational throughout and treatment including diagnostic services continued during June’22- September, 2022 too. Trends of diseases observed was common cough & cold, fever, eye related problem, gastroenteritis, hypertension, ache in bone joints, complications due to high sugar, respiratory trouble, abdominal pain, skin infection etc. Also as mentioned emergency care were also given.

Altogether 783 patients received health care facilities through OPD services during June - September, 2022 period.

Diagnostic cares in the Health Training Centre- Swarnalata Sabuj Seva Sadan provided in June - September, 2022:

-     Pathology: 616,

-     ECG: 31,

-     USG: 94 and

-     X-Ray: 62                 

Health care services through IPD were catered to 17 people, among whom 3 were Covid 19 suspect. Whereas through Outreach Health Camp helped 444 marginalised people in hard to reach villages of Sunderbans avail the health services.
