It will take three weeks for an order from India to Kampala. They will call next Monday to inform HopeOfiriha as to when it should pick the good.

When HopeOfiriha receives the order, it will share the news with you. This long road is nearly coming to an end, and let's wait patiently as our supplier stated.

Alice: I am looking for a Grinding Mill in Kampala
Alice: I am looking for a Grinding Mill in Kampala

This need is fully funded! Thanks to our generous donors of our Reduce Hunger and Women's Workloads In South Sudan project. Women are happy! Girls are dancing! Both we said are free!

Giving a grinding mill to women will provide stable food and reduce hunger in the community. More importantly, eliminating one of women's most time-consuming domestic chores will leave them more time to earn a living, grow food to feed their families, and create a better life.

Hope Ofiriha's team are now searching for a grinding mill to buy, once this machine is purchased we will post you the up-date.

Thank you GlobalGiving.org! Thank you Hope Ofiriha donors!

Magaret Ayaa; we are expecting Posho Mill soon
Magaret Ayaa; we are expecting Posho Mill soon

We wish you a merry Christmas and a happy new year 2013!

Thanks for your recent generous gift to Reduce Hunger and Women’s workloads in South Sudan project. Your committed to help the needy to get out of poverty is really appreciated by our trustees and those will benefit most – the girl children!

Thank you in advance for helping South Sudanese women – with your contribution to give their community a Maize grinding mill. When the mill arrives women will get more time to relax, stay with children, and girl-child have time to go to school and do home-work daily. Their health improves, and they will not squat to crash the dried maize for posho. We are ordering for the Mill in January 2013. The fund donated for this cause is in the restricted fund bank account. This is a one-time cost; we will have to pay all at once to secure the good on the arrival.

The beneficiaries are eager to see this project progressing. They need your help to help to get a Maize mill.

While our communities had just started to adjust from the shocks and devastation of prolonged civil war, they were yet met by airstrikes and ground assaults launched against South Sudan in the bordering states by Sudan armed forces and militant allies. This brought more unnecessary displacement, vulnerability, anguish and human suffering.

Life in the South Sudan – Sudan bordering states became unbearable as cost of living steadily skyrocketed. While two nations have signed a deal to promote peaceful coexistence, the impact of recent conflict include Abyei has caused humanitarian needs to the affected people.

We therefore, request our partners to continue their support to Hope Ofiriha and more importantly to the needy and vulnerable groups in the communities. We look forward to working with all of you in 2013.

May I take this opportunity to wish our donors and partners a Merry Christmas and very happy, peaceful and prosperous New Year 2013!

We need a grinding mill - Said Achan.
We need a grinding mill - Said Achan.

This project has received a total of $ 6,190 out of a budget goal $7,500. To keep women’s moral high we reported to them each month, and this way will ensure the final success of implementing this project.

These women came to our field office, asked, asked, and asked for a grinding mill machine. We always told them HOPE Ofiriha has kept the money raised in “ restricted fund bank account”, and once the funds accumulates its budget goal it will be released out. We also told the beneficiaries this project could not be implemented soon because it was difficult to raised money in short time due to reasons stated below:

Financial global crisis – our donors are committed to helping Omilling but they too are also victims of current recessions.

Funds were sent in small amount each month from our donors. We kept these funds in a bank for until it reaches $7,500. This created frustration among some of the beneficiaries: some don’t understand why money is sent in small amount: others believe USA is the richest nation - and is a piece of cake for an American donor to fund this cause: they don’t see why this not at once. This initiative will be operated as income generation, each beneficiary is charge $1 to grind the maize.

By the time of reporting, a project needs only $1,310, - to reach the goal. This is a one-time unit cost; therefore we need $7,500 is to be paid at once to order the grinding mill machine. Likely, we will implement this project by the end of 2012 but is also possible before the year end. So far the result is promising. The trustees also decided to phase this need out by end of 2012 – we assume at year end the budget is achieved.

Thanks for your recent generous gift: Reduce Women's Workloads in South Sudan.

Your commitment to help the needy to get out from extreme poverty is really appreciated by our trustees, and those who benefit most- the Children!

Your gift will buy a community grinding. This’s a one-time cost so funds collected are restricted in Hope Ofiriha bank account. As soon we reach the goal – a project buys the milling machine. The beneficiaries are eager to see this project progressing.
