CBEP Center Activities for CWDs development

The Community Based Enrichment Program (CBEP) Center is a project of the Las Pinas Persons with Disability Federation Inc. (LPPWFI) wherein children with disabilities undergo learning activities for develop skills and prepare them for inclusion. After undergoing developmental assessment by a developmental psychologist , they attend learning sessions at the CBEP Center with a trained facilitator.

The CBEP Center in Barangay Paplona Uno under Teacher Miner have at present 17 students in the morning with 2 hifts and  and another 2 sets of cass in the afternoon.. Of these 17 children , majority are enrolld in regular class and those who are not yet ready for regular schoolare retained in the CBEP center.

THE STORY OF VINCE

Vince Emmanuel is a 3 year old child with autism, when he entered the CBEP Center he cannot speak a single word; he is without focus; have difficulty holding a pencil or pen; very shy and does not mingle with other kids in the center. Now he is in a day czre with regular program and is quite talkative already with stories to share with classmates. He can also read and write and follows instructions of the teacher and can be left alone in class with his mother staying in class to guard him. 

THE STORY OF THOMAS

Thomas Juancho is a 5 year old child with autism when he joined CBEP Class, he has undergone several therapy classes before he joned CBEP but no progress was made. He often result to tantrums whenever he does not get what he wants. He rarely talks and play with other kids. Now after joining CBEP, He is in kinder regular school , obeys instructions f teacher and talks and plays with his classmates. He is also good in writing and reading.

The federation has given the CBEP Center school supplies like pen and pater crayolas, and other art materials needed in their activity sessions. Funds from GlobalGiving help in educating these children with disability and in sjpporting materials needed by the facilitators.
