The Community Based Enrichment Program (CBEP) at Barangay Pamplona Uno is indeed helping learners with disabilities overcome barriers in education that hinders their development.The Las Pinas Persons with Disability Federation Inc. continuously give materials like pencils, crayons, art papers, scissors and etc. to aid them in their class activities and we are happy to hear updates from their facilitator Ms. Minerva and we are proud as much to share students of CBEP who has moved up and transitioned to regular school:

Ethan an 8 years old, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) Level 3 and ADHD. He began his journey at CBEP in 2023–2024, where his early days were marked by hyperactivity, speech delay, and difficulty focusing. Ethan’s boundless energy often led him to run aimlessly, sometimes unintentionally hurting his peers. Because of these challenges, he remained in CBEP for two years, as he was not yet ready for regular school.

Yet Ethan’s story is one of remarkable transformation. In his final year at CBEP, he learned to follow instructions, began speaking more clearly, and even became talkative. His progress allowed him to transition directly into kindergarten, bypassing daycare due to his age. Today, Ethan is in Grade 1, confidently going to and from school on his own. He has also learned practical skills—riding a bike outside and running errands at the store—showing independence that once seemed far out of reach.

Ethan’s journey reflects the power of patience, structured support, and resilience. From a child who struggled to connect and focus, he has grown into a young boy who can express himself, follow routines, and embrace independence. His progress is a testament to the importance of inclusive programs like CBEP, which provide children with disabilities the chance to thrive and discover their potential.:

Yuwann , 7 years old, began her journey at CBEP when she was just 5. At the start, Yuwann was extremely hyperactive—when her wishes were not met, she would throw tantrums, sometimes hurting her parents in the process. Her outbursts were often accompanied by loud cries, as she had not yet developed speech. Because of these challenges, she stayed in CBEP for two years, unable to transition to daycare due to her difficulty in speaking.

Over time, Yuwann showed remarkable progress. In her second year, she learned to focus, follow routines, and respond to instructions. This growth opened the doors for her to enter regular school. Today, she is in kindergarten, confidently walking into her classroom on her own after being dropped off at the school gate. Yuwann’s journey reflects the power of patience, structured support, and inclusive education—transforming a child once limited by her struggles into one ready to thrive in a mainstreamlearning environment.

Thomas, 7 years old, entered CBEP at age 5 after three years of therapy with little improvement in his, behavior, or social interaction. His parents, searching for a breakthrough, enrolled him in CBEP in 2023–2024. In just one year, Thomas showed remarkable progress—he learned to listen, follow instructions, and communicate with others.

This transformation opened doors for him to join regular school without passing through daycare. From kindergarten to Grade 1, and now in Grade 2, Thomas continues to thrive. He no longer needs constant supervision; his parents simply drop him off at the school gate, and he confidently goes to class on his own.

Thomas’s journey is a powerful example of how inclusive programs like CBEP can unlock potential, turning years of struggle into a story of independence, growth, and hope

CWD Leader from LPPWDFI joins Children's Congress

The Las Pinas Persons with disability Federation ,Inc was invited to participate in the Philippine National Children’s Conference last May 19–22, 2026 in Muntinlupa City gathering ove 100 children and child rights advocates nationwide. The event was organized by the council for the welfare of children and focus on equatable education, child participation, and safe digital spaces under the theme: "Partisipasyon at Edukasyon, Patas, Pundasyon ng Ligtas at Makabatang Bukas". Children aged 10 to 17 years old from all 17 regions in the Philippines participated plus representative from the local council for the protection of children, youth group and advocacy organization. Our representative from Las Pinas is Mildred, a child with physical disability together with Rhian who is a deaf student from Pasay City and Noah an advocate of childs rights National Children’s Group from Kasanyangan,

Mildred is a child with physical disability from Las Pinas, age 16 yrs old, identified as little people.

The Philippine National Children Congress (PNCC) is a biennial national platform that promotes meaningful child participation. This national gathering is designed to amplify the voices of children across regions, fostering leadership, and strengthening collaboration among advocates, and partner organizations. It also serves as the Philippines’ in-country preparatory activity for the ASEAN Children’s Forum (ACF).

From among the PNCC participants, three (3) children - one male, one female, and one child with disability will be selected by their fellow participants to represent the Philippines at the 9th ASEAN Children’s Forum, to be hosted by Malaysia between June to August 2026. This is a rare and significant opportunity for children to influence regional dialogue and policy.

The PNCC featured plenary sessions, workshops, and interactive activities designed to, all carefully designed to empower children to share their perspectives and contribute to shaping meaningful outcomes for the future of children’s rights

The vision of the Las Pinas Persons with disability Federation, Inc (LPPWDFI) is activity aligned the federation's vision to be a federation of empowered persons with disabilities working towards on an all inclusive nation. This is why oppotunity to send children as representive of the federation to fully and actively participate in advocating for the rights of children.

Turnover of Learning Materials to CWDs

Turnover of Learning Materials

The turnover of schools supplies, learning materials and story books for children were officially handed over last January 30, 2026 to the children with disability students of Barangay Pamplona Uno Community based Enrichment Program under Ms. Minerva as facilitator. Officers of the Las Pinas Persons with Disability Federation, Inc. headed the turn over of the learning materials to be used by the 3 batches covering more than 30 children with disabilities. Present to witness the turnover were the Barangay Captain and Admin of barangay Pamplona Uno.

Among the children who are students of the CBEP , the following students are to transition this year to either regular school or special class:

Meet JM, diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder(ASD) and Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder(ADHD). At the start of the CBEP last year (2025) JM was almost always carried by his father to class since he can barely walk on his own at 4 years old. His legs are very weak and he walks on his tiptoes. He is inattentive and cannot eat solid food and only drinks milk. After more than a year of doing the activities in the CBEP module, JM can walk on his own slowly and with little guidance and have learned to eat solid food.This year he will be enrolled in a special class in a regular school.

Meet YUWANN, 5 year old child diagnosed with Autism with ADHD. Yuwann is also non verbal and very hyper . He does not like sharing his toys with other kids so when other kids attempts to touch his toys to play with him, they end up fighting and when his parents tr to intervene and stop the fight, the parents end up being hurt by Yuwann. Because he is non verbal, he has difficulty communicating and in following instructions. But now after a year of CBEP, he can follow instructions and plays with other kids , he is also fond of drawing and knows how to read and write thus eligible for kinder class in a regular scholl.

Meet KENZO, 4 year old with Autism with 3 other siblings. His mother accompanies him to CBP Class. At the start of the program Kenzo is very hyperactive and has difficulty obeying instructions. But with the guidance of the mother and unrelenting patience with kenzo, he knows how to write alphabet, has improved his attention and focus in class. This is why the mother is so happy for she thought Kenzo has no chance of improving his learning skills but now he is ready for enrollment in daycare this year.

These stories of development and hope through CBEP are the very reason why LPPWDFI is bent on supporting the CBEP.
