Educating out of school Children with Disabilities

The Las Pinas Persons with disability Federation ,Inc was invited to participate in the Philippine National Children’s Conference last May 19–22, 2026 in Muntinlupa City gathering ove 100 children and child rights advocates nationwide. The event was organized by the council for the welfare of children and focus on equatable education, child participation, and safe digital spaces under the theme: "Partisipasyon at Edukasyon, Patas, Pundasyon ng Ligtas at Makabatang Bukas". Children aged 10 to 17 years old from all 17 regions in the Philippines participated plus representative from the local council for the protection of children, youth group and advocacy organization. Our representative from Las Pinas is Mildred, a child with physical disability together with Rhian who is a deaf student from Pasay City and Noah an advocate of childs rights National Children’s Group from Kasanyangan, 

Mildred is a child with physical disability from Las Pinas, age 16 yrs old, identified as little people.

The Philippine National Children  Congress (PNCC) is a biennial national platform that promotes meaningful child participation. This national gathering is designed to amplify the voices of children across regions, fostering leadership, and strengthening collaboration among advocates, and partner organizations. It also serves as the Philippines’ in-country preparatory activity for the ASEAN Children’s Forum (ACF).

From among the PNCC participants, three (3) children - one male, one female, and one child with disability will be selected by their fellow participants to represent the Philippines at the 9th ASEAN Children’s Forum, to be hosted by Malaysia between June to August 2026. This is a rare and significant opportunity for children to influence regional dialogue and policy. 

The PNCC  featured plenary sessions, workshops, and interactive activities designed to, all carefully designed to empower children to share their perspectives and contribute to shaping meaningful outcomes for the future of children’s rights

The vision of the Las Pinas Persons with disability Federation, Inc (LPPWDFI) is activity aligned the federation's vision to be a federation of empowered persons with disabilities working towards on an all inclusive nation. This is why oppotunity to send children as representive of the federation to fully and actively participate in advocating for the rights of children.
