Visit of the Youth Advocates of the Defender of Rights
The Youth Advocates of the Defender of Rights (French Institution) visited the CAMELEON Youth Advocates aged 13-14 to raise awareness about children's rights, and to make them think about their right to access to culture, sports and leisure.
Workshop with Trouve Ta Voix
On the field with the children, the CAMELEON team had a special workshop with a French partner association Trouve Ta Voix. This association acts for enabling young people reveal their potential by speaking out. The goal of the workshop was to work with the students on public speaking, body language and wording to use during debates. This type of activity allows them to be more comfortable in speaking and to gain confidence in expressing themselves.
Creation of a new pedagogical tool
The French team created a new tool for middle school students to raise awareness about discrimination in France. The children play characters who encounter difficulties and may experience marginalization. This game encourages empathy and helps to raise awareness about several forms of inequality.
Our new modules appreciated by the beneficiaries
Since the beginning of February, the CAMELEON French team has led several workshops about violence and feelings in schools. This new module is an opportunity for the children to learn how to identify emotions, and to think of the ways they can better manage anger, fear, or frustration. A gender equality module for middle school students was also designed and tested by the CAMELEON team.
