Greetings to all of our donors,

We are happy to announce that this project has taken off from the start! We have solidified strategic partnerships with our regional housing authority, other local community-based organizations, and suppliers. We have given away over 20 personal computers with no marketing expenses after receiving over 100 donations. However, the machines we receive are without hard drives and RAM which is our primary expense.

Unfortunately, the reason for this fast start is the current global COVID-19 pandemic which has forced students to learn from home as they socially distance themselves from other learners. In East Texas, many households are still without computers, and even more are without access to reliable internet. We have solutions to these problems!

We've been fortunate to meet Steve who is our second LIFE Tech trainee who has absolutely loved his time with us. He is a 20-year-old LIFE Tech IT trainee. He’s always been interested in technology, computers, & gaming. He says that this program is “perfect” & “amazing,” exceeding his expectations. Steven is currently pursuing his CompTIA IT Fundamentals certification, he says that he loves how much he’s learning each day so much that his mom commented, “I’ve never seen you so happy.” He enjoys working on technology with Dominique so much that he sometimes decides to come in early for fun. He hopes to land a specific IT role in the area & feels like he found his passion. This is what LIFE Tech is all about.

We hope to bring more stories such as Steven's to you in the future. Until then, stay tuned ...
