Maturapur Jelepolly, a community depends on the fishing from Sundarbans. Due to government policy, the fishermen can only conduct fishing 7-8 months. In other time, they have to depend on the fish availability in the river around their house. Even they have to choose day labor work sometimes, due to lack of fish abundance. They perception is very clear regarding their profession and factor affecting the fish abundance. Climate change is the main factor for that where their perception is, last decades they caught much fish from the Sundarbans, but due to climate change and increasing salinity the number of fish is declining and now the availability is reducing in an alarming rate. There must be some way of adaptation is needed in a very necessary basis.
