Multimillion-dollar economic losses due to cyclone Remal. About 350,000 shrimp-farming families affected which is estimated $14.5 million. At least 150,000 houses have been partially or fully damaged, 3.2 million children estimated to be living in the affected areas. So, we are requesting your assistance in helping the victims of Cyclone Remal for returning to their normal lives as well as emergency food support for their survival.
Cyclone Remal is the first of the frequent storms expected to pound the low-lying coasts of India and Bangladesh this year as climate change drives up surface temperatures at sea. Maksudur Rahman, head of local development organization Bangladesh Environment and Development Society (BEDS) near the Sundarbans area, said better maintenance of coastal embankments would help limit the damage from storm surges.
At this moment we have to take some emergency action to support the cyclne Remal victims such as proving foods and necessary goods for their survival beside this we need to support the affected families to rebuilt their houses and brink back to their business such as shrimp farming and agricultural activities.
The affected families will be started their regular life and doing their business by our support. We will take more necessary action for reducing the risk of climate change.
