New Development: Water ATM Project A significant milestone has been reached with the signing of an agreement between Green Fund Initiative, GlobalGiving Foundation, and Corteva to launch the Water ATM Project in Bangladesh. This initiative will provide sustainable access to clean drinking water using innovative Water ATM systems equipped with Reverse Osmosis (RO) technology, specifically targeting communities facing severe water insecurity in northern Bangladesh.
The project aims to benefit around 250 people, offering them access to safe drinking water and water for other household needs, such as cooking. Initially, one Water ATM system will be installed in a sub-district of Dinajpur, with a budget of USD 10,000. The project will be implemented between October 2024 and March 2025. Currently, baseline surveys and site selection are underway.
This collaboration is a critical step towards improving water security in Bangladesh and underscores the importance of global partnerships in tackling climate and social challenges. Green Fund Initiative remains committed to advancing sustainable development and enhancing community well-being.
Conclusion The Water and Sanitation Project has made notable strides in addressing Bangladesh's water and sanitation crisis, focusing on sustainable, long-term solutions. The launch of the Water ATM Project marks a major advancement in our mission to provide vulnerable populations with reliable access to clean water, delivering both immediate relief and long-term resilience.
