Sindh Disabled Welfare Association (SDWA) continued its efforts to improve access to clean and reliable water through the Clean Water Handpumps project. So far, 60 hand pumps have been installed in communities where access to safe water is limited. These hand pumps provide families with a closer and more accessible source of water for drinking, cooking, washing, and other essential daily needs.
For families living in underserved rural communities, the lack of nearby water sources can make obtaining water a difficult daily task, particularly for children and women who may have to travel long distances to collect it. By installing hand pumps within communities, the project helps reduce the distance families need to travel and provides a more convenient source of water for everyday household needs.
The installation of these 60 hand pumps represents an important step toward improving water access and supporting healthier, more dignified living conditions for vulnerable communities. SDWA remains committed to expanding access to essential water infrastructure and reaching communities where reliable water sources are still unavailable.
