THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU!
The period from March 15-June 15th was unique, as we used your donation toward Clean Birth Kits as part of our Ukrainian Crisis Relief program. GHC packed 41 boxes weighing over 1,200 pounds with nearly 110,000 items with clean birth kits, medical supplies, baby/child clothing, hygiene necessities and family care items.
Volunteers from age 8 to 88 assembled 1,692 custom clean birth kits that included additional items such as diapers, onesies, socks and hand sanitizer. These kits will provide the supplies needed for safe and clean births in areas badly damaged by the effects of war, potentially saving the lives of over 3,300 Ukranian mothers and their newborns.
May 15, 2022 - GHC's first donation of 13 boxes (10,357.6 cubic inches/box) with 684 birth kits and other supplies were transported by charter airplane to a distribution center in Lubin, Western Poland. All goods from Lublin where transferred to refugee areas in Poland, as well as trucked directly into Kyiv, based on where they were needed most.
June 8, 2022 - GHC's second donation of 28 boxes with 988 birth kits and supplies made the journey in a beautiful hand-painted container from Ann Arbor to New York, where it set sail on the vessel "Ever Lucky" on July 3, 2022. The Lucky vessel is expected to arrive in Gdynia, Northern Poland on August 2nd, where it will be picked up and again trucked across the Polish-Ukranian Boarder.
THE CONTAINER
Michigan artists Shingo Brown and Gary Horton researched Ukrainian art and painted murals inspired by Ukraine on two sides of the container that took GHC donations overseas. Shingo Brown dedicated his mural to Maria Primachenko, the Ukrainian folk artist whose paintings were destroyed at the beginning of the war. Gary Horton painted a sunflower, Ukraine’s national flower, incorporating his own style as a symbol of rebirth. The third side was painted by Ann Arbor children and adults with messages of love and support. Read more at mlive.
The incredible results of this three-month effort are a testament to human kindness, solidarity and the power of goodwill. We are not only sending a container of donations, but we are also sending symbols of hope and support to the people of Ukraine.
Thank you for your contribution toward the Clean Birth Kit program!

Dear valued donor,
We are happy to anounce that we are slowly ramping up Clean Birth Kit assemblies again.
On January 30, 2022, GHC had a local family assemble 250 Clean Birth Kits as part of a Junior National Honor Society (JNHS) project at our Farmington, MI location. The event participants included the JNHS student, her mother and even her 85 year old grandmother! A family affair!
Your donation helped provide blankets, plastic sheeting and pictorials for this event. GHC has recently had a request for Clean Birth Kits from a community in Afghanistan, so currently plans are being made for transport.
We are hopeful that we can continue to hold events to keep the production of kits moving forward, as the need is great and requests are coming in.
Please see photos on the event!
Thank you again for your continued support of our Clean Birth Kit program. You are making a difference for these women and their infants.
Warm regards,
Susan McAdams, GHC Executive Board Member

Your donation also make it possible to hold a two-day Clean Birth Kit assembly event at the Greater Atlanta Christian School in Georgia. Teachers and students assembled 800 clean birth kits over the two days in March!

Dear valued donor,
Thank you for your generous donation!
Your donation will be used to ship nine bins of Clean Birth Kits (approximately 450+ Clean Birth Kits) to the RAiSE Foundation in Niger State, Nigeria.
Niger State is the largest state in the country and located in the North Central zone. Infant and maternal mortality remains high in this state due to cultural norms, lack of medical equipment and insufficient health workers.
The RAiSE Foundation, founded by Dr. Amina Abubakar Bello, focuses on improvement in Maternal and Child Health, Women Empowerment and Girl Child Education. Dr Bello is a trusted partner who will ensure these Clean Birth Kits are distributed in areas of most need at this time.
Thank you for your donation and your contribution in getting these kits distributed this year, at a time when the need has never been greater.
Kind regards,
Patricia Williams, Founder & President
