Clean Birth Kits for Safer Births

30+ CBK Assembly Events This Year

Global Health Charities (GHC) has had an incredible year of bringing communities together to make childbirth safer for mothers and newborns around the world. Through more than 30 Clean Birth Kit (CBK) assembly events, students, volunteers, schools, and community organizations have taken meaningful action to address preventable maternal and infant deaths.

Our Clean Birth Kit Assembly Program combines education with hands-on service. At each event, participants learn about global health inequities, the risks mothers and newborns face in resource-limited communities, and how simple, practical supplies can help reduce the risk of infection during childbirth. Participants then assemble kits containing 11 essential items, including soap, gloves, plastic sheeting, gauze, and a clean razor. These kits are distributed through trusted partner organizations to communities where access to basic childbirth supplies is limited.

Every event demonstrates how collective action can translate into meaningful impact. Students and volunteers move beyond learning about global challenges to becoming part of the solution, helping equip birth attendants and families with supplies that support safer, cleaner births.

GHC’s work continues to expand through partnerships with organizations serving vulnerable communities around the world. To date, we have distributed more than 30,000 Clean Birth Kits to 29 countries, helping protect mothers and newborns during one of the most critical moments of their lives.
