Access to distribute aid such as food, clean water, blankets, tents has been difficult due to the infrastructure damage after the earthquake. Due to extreme food shortage, YCAB Foundation will provide aid relief to children and teachers impacted by the earthquake in the form of emergency food supplies, clean water and longer-term recovery assistance such as psychological first aid.
An earthquake of magnitude 5.6 hit Cianjur leaving 115,000 people displaced & 40,000 were children. Over 100 children were among the 602 deaths. The devastation is causing a severe impact on food security. Clean water, food & hygiene is scarce. Disease and infection are rampant without immediate intervention. Survivors have been left traumatized and children are terrified.
The project will alleviate the problem in terms of clean water, food and hygiene products. The survivors in this project namely teachers and students will receive psychological first aid to manage the trauma and fear left by the devastating earthquake. They will learn to manage stress and be able to start living a life without fear.
The donations we are raising will help the survivors post-earthquake. Your donation will not only provide much-needed support in the immediate aftermath of the disaster, but it will continue to assist the community in a long-term rehabilitation process.
