One of the special things about Boys & Girls Clubs of Huntington Valley is that our continuum of care starts with children’s earliest days as six week old infants at our preschools and goes on to be there for kids as they grow up at our school age Clubs. Throughout the entire pandemic, the Club has been there for the children of working moms and dads, never closing, and always being a place families can count on.
A mom named Cynthia’s son Hank was one of those kids who has grown up at the Club. As their family got ready to move out of state last month, Cynthia shared what the Boys & Girls Club has meant to her son Hank over the last nine years.
“From the time he was a little baby to now where he is too cool to take a picture for his dear old mom, Hank has been cared for by the amazing staff at the Boys & Girls Club. I cried the first day because I didn’t want him to go and I cried the last day because I wish he could stay. They have raised him alongside me, made him the amazing boy he is today, potty trained him, taught him to read, gave him confidence. They were always there through thick and thin with open arms. Thank you for the last 9 years, I couldn’t have done it without you.”
For every family that walks through our doors, the Club’s staff are here for kids and parents just like they were for Hank and Cynthia, working alongside parents to help kids reach their full potential.
Thank you for supporting the Club and making sure that working moms and dads know they can always count on the Boys & Girls Club!
