Childcare hospital workers can count on
By Laura Portier-LaLumiere | Director of Development

Thank you for helping make sure that families who are part of our community's essential workforce have childcare that they know they can count on. Through your support, the Club is able to provide scholarships to make the Boys & Girls Club affordable for families who are working through tough times.
Audrie is a hard-working single mom whose family is part of the Club's scholarship program right now. With your help, she's able to do the work that our community counts on because she can count on the Boys & Girls Club.
“I am a single mom with some assistance from my child’s father but it is still very difficult sometimes to make ends meet. Right now, finances are tight. I work every day at a local hospital. A scholarship to the Boys & Girls Club helps me know that my son will have a safe place to be watched and where he can make friends. He has always had a great experience at the Club. Without the Boys & Girls Club for childcare, my child would have nowhere to go after school and I wouldn’t be able to keep my current job. Thank you for all the help you provide.”
Thank you for helping families like Audrie's. As our community works toward recovery from the pandemic, we're all in this together. By helping essential worker families access the childcare they desperately need, you're helping our whole community come back stronger. Thank you!

When your child says, "Best day of my life!"...

Thanks for helping essential worker families!
When your child says, "it has been the best day of my life" you know that you've found something amazing. That's what happened when Elizabeth brought her kindergartner to the Club for the first time. Here's what she has to say:
"I decided to send my kids here when online school started and I realized there is no way I could work from home and homeschool at the same time. My kindergartner had serious attachment issues and I was afraid that this was going to be like every other 'school' I sent him to where it ended up in catastrophe. The first day I was so nervous, but when I picked him up he said ‘Mom, I love this place, it has been the best day of my life.’ It brought so much relief to my soul. There have been days where he said he wishes he could go from 6am to 6pm! I send my 6th grader and kindergartner here and they both love it. The staff is so caring, everyone is outstanding!!!” - Elizabeth
I can't think of a better gift than giving a child the best day of his life and giving a mom relief to her soul. When you made your gift to the Boys & Girls Club, that's exactly what you gave to Elizabeth and her son. Thanks for caring enough to make a difference to families like theirs. If you'd like to help even more families at the Club, please consider making a gift today or sharing this project with a friend.
Thank you so much for your support!

You gave a desperate mom the help she needs
By Laura Portier-LaLumiere | Director of Development

In an application for the Club’s scholarship program, a mom named Susana wrote a heartfelt plea: “As a single mother, I don’t like asking for help unless I really need it. Right now, the budget is very tough. It’s become a choice between daycare or rent. I have no one to watch my son. I don’t know what I would do without the Boys & Girls Club. Please help.”
With help from supporters like you, the Club can provide a scholarship program so that essential worker families like Susana’s can access the childcare they so desperately need. The Club’s sliding scale scholarship program makes sure families pay only what they can afford.
Your helping hand in a family’s moment of desperate need makes a big difference. Your support helps a parent like Susana be able to pay the rent. You help her keep working, moving our community toward recovery. Best of all, you give a child the Club’s safe, caring environment, where they get the all the help they need to succeed in this challenging year. Thank you!
If you'd like to help more families like Susana's, please make your donation today.
