Stop the Silence is moving forward with our national model (awareness-raising, education, training, policy reform) of comprehensive child sexual abuse (CSA) prevention and mitigation in the U.S. and other countries around the world in partnership with governments, local non-profit groups, corporations and foundations.
Child sexual abuse is occurring in pandemic proportions and includes actions from voyeurism to rape. It usually happens over an extended period of time by someone close to the child. There are at least 42 million adult survivors in U.S. Given the often grave physical and psychological trauma, it is affecting not only individuals but societies. Stop the Silence increases awareness & provides support, information, and healing support through safe, creative, accessible, e.g., Art as Advocacy.
Stop the Silence increases awareness, knowledge, understanding through strategic, innovative models & programs, e.g., Art as Advocacy; Educational outreach; Training the public, service providers, government officials, and others. We make a difference locally, nationally, and internationally by thoughtfully and strategically and carefully planning programs from the bottom up and top down, using tried and testing communication know-how to reach individuals, communities, societies, and countries!
Unless societies throughout the world can face and address CSA, it will not be stopped. Stop the Silence brings CSA out of the shadows and into the light worldwide by providing strategic programming involving information, education, and training, which in turn bringi awareness and change knowledge, attitudes, norms, and behaviors. We aim to stop child sexual abuse and help survivors heal worldwide.
