Chikumbuso students have a 100% pass rate!
By Courtney Winters | Intern
We our so proud of our brilliant and driven students!
Every student in Zambia is required to pass a state-issued Seventh Grade Final Exam before they are allowed to continue on to secondary school. Nationally, only 60 percent of students pass the exam and are able to continue their schooling, but our Chikumbuso students have an amazing 100 percent pass rate! After our former students pass the exam, Chikumbuso pays for their high school tuition and school supplies so that they can continue their education. Help us to reward their success and love for learning with funding for their continued education!

Saying Thank You

Students in Secondary School
Secondary Education is a essential to getting finding a future in Ng'ombe Compound, where poverty and hopelessness run rampant. This past April I had the pleasure of returning to Chikumbuso for a three week visit. I was thrilled to see that the students I left two years ago are thriving. They are blossoming in school, are healthy, and lead in their community.
The following is a letter I received from one of our high school students. She is a student that you are providing for through your giving here at Global Giving.
Ng'ombe CompoundLusakaDear Mama Linda,I am writing this letter to thank you fo the good work and effort you are giving to Chikumbuso. Before I go any further I would like to pass my greetings to you and say thank you for visiting us, your children, once again this year.On behalf of my fellow pupils who are also members of Chikumbuso I would like to say thank you mama for it is by your commitment that we are able to be in school. We will work extreemly hard at school for these few years that are remaining. It is my prayer that God will bless all the people who volunteer at this school and I thank everyone there in America who gives to Chikumbuso their support. I would like to tell you mama that God is very happy. My parents did not manage to send me to school but Chikumbuso managed. I did not know in my life that today I would be in grade 10. I thank God for this because he showed me his favour for I believe that through education I will be able to go out and have new careers offered to me. Thank you, we love you, Esnart

Still a big need for sponsors!
By Linda Wilkinson | Executive Director
As we start the new year, we are faced again with the reality of increased school fees and rising costs as we send our brilliant students on to secondary school. Our students are consistently in the top scorers when they move to middle and high school, they outperform their peers on national tests, and are gearing up to do great things with their lives.
Unfortunately, we still don't have enough sponsors to send all our students to high school. Please partner with us as we support our amazing students. We only send those with the best grades and most motivation on, they truly deserve the opportunity to study at the next level. Thank you in advance!
