"My name is Grace Sitali. I was born on the 26th of February, 1999 in Kauma Village. I have never know my father and when I was six I moved to Ng’ombe with my mother and auntie. I have one brother and one sister. When I was in the village I never had the chance to go to school, but once our family moved here I was able to start going to Chikumbuso School. My first day of school was so exciting. I was so happy because it was the first time in my life to ever go to school. I learned so much from my teacher, Meshack. He taught me mathematics, history, science, and English. Since then English has become my favorite subject. I have never once been absent from school, because learning is more important to me than anything else. If I were to just stay home when different things happen and not come to school, then I would have no future. I am grateful that Chikumbuso has given me an opportunity to learn and receive an education. When I grow up I want to be a teacher so that I can help people learn, just like my teachers have helped me learn."
