Children at the Stepping Stones
The scholastic year ended on an very happy note for the children attending school at the El Shaddai, El Shaddai helps children to get back to their proper childhood, education and better life. The children were studying at the Shanti Niketan School and at the slum school across Goa, also remedial classes were offered to the children who needed special attention in subjects they had a challenge with. During the year the children learned new languages, math, science, history and social sciences. Most of the new street and slum children have never received any form of education and for the children it was a blessing to attend the school as they would be either be at the slums or construction site without any constrictive activity. At El Shaddai homes we take these children into care and provide them with healthy environment to grow up. The children are also provided with Food, Clothing, Medical care, Counseling, Education and extra coaching. There are group of friendly staff, counselors who help them with various activities in the home. Our project helps children to transform their lives and give them hope to be better human. Some of the children are malnourished, without proper clothes on them and psychologically disturbed. El Shaddai helps them to get back to their proper childhood, education and better life, gives them chance to dream again and have hope for future. El Shaddai Charitable Trust is running 40 slum schools across Goa and is having have 10 sub centres in North Goa & South Goa. The Sub Centre are rented classroom which conduct Nursery, non formal educational classes, provide extra coaching after school and vocational training classes. The slum schools provide basic education and nutrition snack. In each Slum school there are 15 – 20 children. It is for slum children who attend regular classes and for children who don’t go to school; It encourages the children to join normal regular schools and then they are supervised and provide for their schooling requirement by providing them extra coaching. Thank you!

New Year Special Lunch
The children in El Shaddai's Seven children's homes, three-day-care-shelters and three community centres in Goa had a great 2017 year. The children did celebrate Christmas festival and received Christmas gifts. The Christmas holidays were enjoyed playing different games, the older children did decorate the home, made a crib outside the house and had a lot of fun. The children also had Christmas Children's Party and New Year Party where they were served special meals. The children had practised Christmas Carol songs and had a great fun singing.
The children in House of Kathleen received new cycles; the children were so happy as you can tell from the picture. Thanks to one of the El Shaddai Supporter who thought of buying the children the cycles as a gift. The girls in Rainbow house are excited that now there is a girls football team. The girls go for football coaching on a weekdays after school.
Thank you for your support towards helping the deprived children in the care of El Shaddai Charitable Trust. If you are visiting Goa, please do visit the children in one of the projects of El Shaddai.
