Our family is growing now!

By Christeena Kurian | Sponsorship Secretary

A story on recent rescue

Sharath, Vinu, Rekha and Gauri hails from the grounds of Campal in Goa. These children were rescued by El Shaddai field workers after constantly persuading the parents to admit the children with us. The parents were reluctant to let go of their children only for the reason that they were a source of income. These children were living without the luxury of basic necessities, deprived of all the rights, every child in the country is entitled to. Parents of these children are street dwellers, making their livelihood by seeking alms. Since, the children were born into this adversity, they were unaware of the existence of a better world. They were brought up like untamed animals who were send to fend for themselves. Children were struggling to fit into the El Shaddai culture but the comforts of food, shelter and clothing made them overwhelmed with emotions. Now the children are experiencing a whole new, better world at El Shaddai and they are expectantly waiting for the rest of the world to unveil itself before their eyes.
