Hello to all our sponsors and supporters!
This year the ongoing pandemic has severely affected the families of our children. Unfortunately, not everyone is as privileged as us. The lockdown hit the most vulnerable the hardest. The rapid spread of coronavirus made all the schools to shut down. In this pandemic, January to April 2021 were difficult months for the children of El Shaddai. COVID 19 is still affecting India and there is a quick rise in the cases as the second wave has hit India badly. But we would like to inform you that all our children are well and safe in our homes.
We know that everyone is struggling at this moment and we are grateful that you still continue to support our children in these difficult times. We can’t thank you enough for your generosity and your kind heart. Please see a few updates of our report. Feel free to share this report with your friends, family, and colleague so we can reach our target this year.
Our children have finished their final exam and NIOS (Tenth Standard) students are still learning from home due to pandemic. The government plan to open the school by June 2021. Very often we invite motivational speakers to come and spend some time with our children and encourage them to come up in life. A resource person from Vasco conducted a session where she taught the girls how to release stress and come out of depression. Workshops and sessions were held for the children on personality development, through this workshop children learned how to overcome the stage fear and to deal with emotions.
Fifteen days Boxing camp was held for children in association with Goa Amateur Boxing Association. The children learned about the stance, footwork, and punching. For our champions, it was a first starting point. Not only boxing children also participated in the Yoga camp headed by Yoga Instructor Mr. Sandeep Morajkar where every morning they were seen unrolling their Yoga Mats. This camp helped our children to gain physical fitness and confidence. Apart from this our girls and boys took an active part in indoor and outdoor activities like football, basketball, chess, art, craft and lots more.
Most of our junior music lovers were involved in music, guitar, keyboard, and vocal classes which helped them to boost their mental development. All the children were also involved in dance classes learning tap steps and more. All these activities facilitated to build a great fun team. In the midst of April, all our children went for Holi party at Shekinah House (one of our children's homes) sponsored by one of our supporters. On 23rd April our children were amazed to see the magic show performed by DMC magician, children really had a wonderful time watching the magic.
We are really grateful to you all for being a part of the El Shaddai family. Thank you to all sponsors, donors, and supporters who have been supporting this cause. We were able to reach our target because of your continuous support.
