From exploitation to a fun filled future

Dear patrons,

Greetings, thank you for taking the time to read this report. I hope you find it interesting!

In year 2021, thousands of marginalized women and children got the benefit of Better livelihood, Health, Education, Skill Development training, Covid-19 Relief by El Shaddai Charitable Trust. This well-doing could be possible just because of your generous donation support. We got opportunities to learn through guidance, webinar, feedback training of GG Team. The experience helped our team to perform better for the welfare of deprived community at grassroots level.

These are the children who live on the streets, under bridges and beside railway stations. Some are orphans. Some are driven from their homes. Some have run away from an abusive parent or step-parent. Some others, confined to the walls of their home, forced into labour, sexual abuse or even prostitution. Alone, these children do not have the divine right to a happy childhood with access to care, food and education.

Your help provides these children safe and happy childhoods. Your efforts to raise funds and support the work on the ground help to give these children homes. In the Homes, children grow up in a safe and caring environment, sometimes for the first time in their young lives. Here they receive nutritious meals and learn about hygiene. Regular health check-ups ensure they receive their vaccinations and medical issues are addressed.

We would like to wholeheartedly thank everyone for your continued support of our project which is to improve the lives and education of the children in Goa. I wish you could see the hope in their eyes, the spring in their step, and the determination in their faces. It is wonderful and I am so privileged to witness this.

An update From El Shaddai

Dear Partners,

Greetings from El Shaddai!

We are all safe and doing well in El Shaddai. The world is still affected by this deadly pandemic but all of us have learnt to adapt in such tough times,

El Shaddai Charitable Trust was honored by a visit from the Governor of Goa, His Excellency, on Tuesday 26th October on the occasion of the 71st Birthday of the Prime Minister of India. The children of El Shaddai were provided with goody bags by the governor at the end of the program.

On the occasion of Diwali, children from various orphanages in Goa were invited to the Raj Bhavan by Governor of Goa. In the short ceremony, children sang patriotic hymns. After touring the Raj Bhavan children happily returned. A beautiful hand-drawn picture by one of the El Shaddai Child was gifted to his Excellency. It was a wonderful experience and our children had a great time.

We also celebrated Children’s day on 14^th November in homes with special programme and meal. All the children had great fun and happy to receive lots of sweets.

Music and dance classes for the children are conducted every alternate day. Besides, they are also engaged in extra-curricular activities like tailoring and sports like football, basket ball, table tennis, and cricket.

Our children were engaged in various activities as part of their Fun Diwali Holiday activities. Some of the activities were wealth out of waste, hygiene activities, solo dance performances and Indian flag drawing competition and sports activities. Kids also planted some saplings and created diyas, Narkasur and Diwai kandils as part of Diwali celebration. The kids had a lot of fun participating in these activities.

All children have started going to school, with proper protocols of COVID. All the teachers are putting in a lot of efforts to teach them. Our senior children going to college also help the home in charges in taking the studies of the little ones.

We are reaching out to more children who are vulnerable in his pandemic and require care. We require your support more than ever to continue doing our work. Please consider making a donation and sharing our fundraiser within your social networks.

Help us keep the children healthy and safe

To all the supporters of El Shaddai,

Thank you all for the continuous generosity and aid that has helped us survive in these past months, your support enabled us to keep the children healthy and safe during these lockdowns.

Although this outbreak within our Organization has been a setback we have been continuously working towards providing relief to people who are in need through the distribution of food grains kits, masks, sanitizers and nutritious food and also supporting them to the best of our current ability, again I would like to reiterate that we can be so efficient during these challenging times due to the immense support we have received from all of you. I also want to keep all of you updated with the Vaccination progress and changes made in the Organization.

On a more positive note, we have managed to successfully provide all our staff and children above the age of 18 with their first vaccination dose, as we are trying our best to get everyone within the organization vaccinated to prevent the spread of this Virus. We are currently in the process of readmitting younger children who have been struggling with education back to school but maintaining strict social distancing measures and following state regulations so that they can continue working their hardest for a brighter future in a safe environment. We have also recently taken up a new challenge by opening a Men's home in Verna which was formerly a children's home to help rehabilitate struggling men to find their way back into society so that they may have a second chance.

We have reopened the schools last month, and all the children are excited to wear the uniform and go to school after a long gap. Many children after coming from the school could not stop telling how they spent their day, how many friends they made and met new class teacher and all set to learn new things. Some of our senior children going to college are continuing with their online classes.

Our children have also celebrated the Independence Day on 15^th August. There was dance performance, singing patriotic songs, speech on the importance of Independence and appreciating the freedom fighters. All the children had great fun and enjoyed special meal and snacks.

Once again I would like to thank all of you for your continued support through these tough times as it has been a silver lining in what could be considered the biggest cloud we have faced. The impact of the roles you all have played whether minute or major is immeasurable to us and we just wanted to show you our gratitude and appreciation.

We do hope that we can count on your continued support for these underprivileged children. Setting up a monthly donation is the most effective way to help the children have better future, every dollar donated makes a difference!
