Wyatt's a blue-eyed charmer with a mischievous smile and a fierce hug. He's really into music with a strong bass beat and loves to play any instrument he can put his hands on.
Wyatt has a rare disorder called Langerhans histiocytosis that affects his white blood cells. He's just one example of the many hospitalized children who experience joy the minute CCA's MusicRx staff enters the room, excited for his dose of music medicine.
CCA’s award-winning MusicRx program, comprised of professional music specialists and highly trained volunteers, infuses hospitals with the healing power of music by delivering bedside music medicine and staging impromptu hallway performances. MusicRx’s exclusive mobile music carts are custom-designed to hold a lending library of nearly 100 specialized instruments, interactive songwriting and recording technology, a karaoke machine, and an iPod doc loaded with music for every age.
Last year, CCA’s MusicRx delivered music services 15,915 times and provided 530 palliative interactions. CCA also launched a new digital medicine program, MyMusicRx, which delivers the healing power of music to kids worldwide through the MyMusicRx.org website.
With your generous donation we can grow this program and spread the healing joy of music to more children, teens and families.
