Cervical Cancer Screening for women in Kosovo

The implementation of the Cervical Cancer Screening Program in Kosovo's largest municipalities has been highly successful, resulting in the screening of over 14,000 women to date. Our efforts to expand the program are ongoing to ensure that women residing in rural areas and those most vulnerable are not deprived of this essential service. Through continued collaboration and awareness-raising efforts, we aim to ensure that all women have access to life-saving cervical cancer screening.

During the current quarter, the following activities were carried out:

Training of Family Doctors: Two family doctors from the Main Family Medicine Center in Mitrovica underwent training on how to conduct Pap tests. This training will equip them with the necessary skills to perform the tests effectively.

Stakeholder Meeting: A meeting was convened with the project's stakeholders to discuss the challenges encountered and to plan for upcoming activities. This collaborative gathering allowed for the exchange of ideas and ensured the smooth progression of the program.

Furthermore, two awareness lectures were organized during this quarter to promote the cervical screening program among female staff members of two primary schools in Mitrovica. The first lecture took place at "Bedri Gjinaj" primary school, with a total of 20 participants. The second lecture was held at the "Gezimi Ynë" kindergarten in Mitrovica, and it attracted 25 participants.
