This project seeks to reach the inclusion of persons with Down syndrome and cognitive disabilities, through an awareness campaign that allows breaking down myths that exist about them in our community.
The existence of myth and stereotypes around persons with Down syndrome and cognitive disabilities fosters the creation of prejudices that prevent them to be considered as persons with rights and possibilities, which make difficult their inclusion in society. Through this awareness campaign, our goal is reeducate our community in order to achieve the inclusion and equal opportunities for them.
Through awareness campaigns, educational workshops in schools of the region, inclusive education seminars for teachers and conferences for families, we seek to promote inclusion and encourage a new attitude in our community that promotes respectful and equitable treatment toward person with disabilities.
Every effort we make to knock down myths will help persons with disabilities have greater opportunities for community inclusion and that they are treated equal to other citizens and not as subjects of assistance.
