Dear Sponsors,
Thank you all for your generosity! I was so happy to hear from Strategy and Innovation for Development Initiative (SI4DEV) that they have approved a grant for my project to provide vocational training to unemployed youths and recent school dropouts, to enhance employ ability and provide a skilled foundation to build them a career, therefore reducing levels of unemployment in those aged 16-30.
My efforts so far:
I met with some youths today though we couldn't reach the chief today because he was busy. I scheduled to meet him with the youth leader, next week Wednesday. The youth leader assured me of the venue. They asked that I prepare a banner to put in the vicinity for sensitization, to back up their talk with the youths. I told them I will get back to them on that by Wednesday
Also went to a tailors shop to register my interest to have an apprentice placed with her for three months. Below is the revised budget for vocational training and skills acquisition for unemployed youth in Yenagoa that we will be working with.
Budget in Naira
1. Registration of apprentice in a tailoring shop for 3months 30000
2. Registration of apprentice in a shoemaking shop for 3 months 42000
3. 4weeks vocational skills training purchase of materials for:
4. Hats, fascinators and bridal bouquets 10000
5. Ankara crafts 10000

8. Introduction to wig making 10000
9. Stipends for facilitators 40000

Warm regards.
Mony
