Dear Donors
I am delighted to enclose the latest report from Toybank.
The report sets out a range of activities for the quarter but I'd like particularly to highlight the nimble use of connectivity. WhatApp is a tried and tested way to reach impoverished communities without access to traditional learning faclities This quarter 57 curated play based activities were disseminated by WhatsApp to hlep with the development of integral life skills like critical thinking,socio-emotional wellbeing, and cognitive skills, while also aligning with children’s academic curriculum.
You will see that 5589 games were replaced at 199 Play2Learn centres and I particularly loved the review by an expert panel set up by The Lego Foundation.
"The Opentree Foundation has already shown success in sustaining its programme, reaching thousands of children, teachers and caregivers. Their apporaches give the options of implementing Play in chidren's lives and sustaining the programme over the years."
There is no question that providing access to play is not a one-off intervention, it requres a sustained commitment to shaping a child's development through play and Toybank really has got this nailed!
Thank you for your ongoing support, please do continue to dig deep to support these deserving kids.
Best Wishes
