Dear Donor,

I want to extend my gratitude on your continue support to. our project. Without your generous donations we would not have been able to compile this report today. Thank You!

This reporting quarter we have been able to conduct various activities within our center. We have trained women on ways they can manage their bodily health through increasing their knowledge on diseases like TB, Malaria and Hiv. They were sensitized on understanding its symptoms and to treat it. Through our climate response project we planted 100 trees in schools. Garissa is among the arid and semi arid lands of Kenya so this was crucial for us to combat the pro-longed drought which had hit the county. Some of the challanges the drought brought was increase in violence among women and girls. Rape cases spiked up during this drought season.

Our local partners engagement strategy this quarter was to join in NGO Week celebration. This event as an organization we participated in showcasing our work and learning from other partners. One of our staff donated blood to help patients who are in need in the Garissa Referral Hospital. We also took part in celebrating world population day which was celebrated across the globe.

Enhancing womens economic power being our major goal, we connected two women who are business owners to existing organization that provide interest free loans. This will assist them in boosting their business and increasing their profits.

We are on the process of purchasing a soap plodder which will assist in the production of bar soap. We have contacted vendors and we are in the stage of bid analysis where we are loooking for quality machine at an affordable price.

We appreciate your support and we will continue to update you on our progress.

Thank You!

Dear Supporter,

We want to extend our gratitude for your support, this report would not have been actualized if it weren't for your effort through your donation to our work. we, therefore, are excited to share with you what we have been doing in realizing our vision of enhancing community resilience.

During this quarter we relocated our office to the now completed three rooms of the center. we had moved in January and have since then been able to conduct two pieces of training within the center, we also have assisted members of the gender technical working group with a space to conduct the final meeting for international women's day.

On the 8th of March which also coincides with international women's day, we launched the center and we were joined by local community members, local administrators, and partners from various organizations working in Garissa. The community was sensitized to matters of ending and reporting cases of gender-based violence, we had also brought in an officer from the children's department and also from the police to make it easy for the community to be able to report cases and be assisted.

Other than this we have been involved in conducting mental health and mentorship sessions for school-going girls. We have also conducted online leadership training for the youth in our county.

Due to the ongoing drought, we partnered with Global Fund for women and distributed food items to 40 households and we are on track to distribute 150 trees so as to reduce the negative effects of climate change.

We are still looking forward to starting the soap-making lessons for the women, this we have not yet realized due to limited financial resources and we hope our next report we would be able to achieve this.

Thank you again for your generous donation

Dear Supporter,

We are extremely grateful for allowing us to continue supporting women and girls in this part of our world. without your generosity, we would not be able to have the impact that we are currently reporting.

This quarter has been quite a learning experience for us as an organization. so many lessons were learned and bridges were built all for achieving our goal of positively enhancing the lives of women and girls.

Through our different partners, we have conducted leadership training for student councils, and school-going girls and have been able to distribute sanitary towels to enable girls to be dignified during their menstruation.

In Garissa county, we have directly experienced the negative impact of climate change. The prolonged drought had caused an increase in rape and other forms of gender-based violence. we partnered with Global Fund For Women to respond to this crisis by distributing food items to the affected homes.

As for the leadership center, we have completed the flooring by adding tiles, cementing the entire wall, and buying the doors and windows which will be installed in a few days to come. The building of the center is almost complete with few touches left.

This center will be the first leadership hub for women and girls in Garissa and we are excited about the number of women and girls we will be able to reach come next year. The opening and the launch of the center are set to be done in early January.

lessons and topics to be taught are being prepared and we are looking forward to a brighter future for our pastoralist women and girls.

We appreciate all your support and we hope to continue being in solidarity with one another in building a better world where women and girls have equal opportunities in achieving their goals.

Thank You!

Dear Supporter

We really appreciate the donation that you made to our project, we have been able to start with the construction of the leadership center. we have managed to build three rooms inclusive of where we will relocate our office. we have built the center in a ward called Iftin Ward which is relatively near the main market of Garissa County.

This location is suitable for us as it is densely populated and we can be able to reach many women and girls. one room will be used as a soap-making factory to enable us to sustain the income-generating projects that we will start so as to ensure vulnerable women are financially free. The building of the center is still ongoing and we have not completed it fully.

During this reporting period, we have done other projects aimed at impacting the lives of women and girls like the distribution of sanitary towels, responding to a prolonged drought that we were experiencing through distribution of food. we mentored students from technical colleges on leadership skills and creating awareness of gender-based violence.

We continue to progress with our work smoothly through your support.

Thank You.

Dear Supporters of Girl Concern Org,

We are writting to update you on the progress of our work. 2021 has been a wonderful year for us full of great achievements, among them being our increased engagement with the community members, government officials and other partners to advocate against gender based violence and improvement of the lives of women and girls.

We have increased on the number of women and girls being reached directly to about 60%. our partnership with key stakeholders has also strengthened, we recently partnered with gender based violence and recovery centre (GVRC), population service Kenya and population service international on a project called Accelerate, which aims at accelerating efforts in ending harmful cultural practices, gender based violence and child mortality.

To curb challenges faced by women girls during their menstruation we have distributed sanitary towels. we have also mentored school going girls on the need to put more efforts in their education and also ways they can keep themselves safe from gender based violence. we also did a blood drive where community members came together and donated 32 points of blood to ensure women during not lack blood during their delivery.

Through your donation we have been able to purchase a piece of land. This is a huge step for us as it will lay a foundation for us to be able to build the leadership centre.

On behalf of the women and girls and all our commmunity members we say thank you to all of our supporters!

We wish you a successful 2022 and hope to partnering with you all moving foward.
