Why let girls and young women suffer in silence? In Garissa County, many girls and young women face gender-based violence and emotional trauma, yet few have access to recovery or safe spaces. This project will solve the problem by providing a safe space for survivors of gender-based violence to heal and rebuild their lives. Through the GBV Recovery and Leadership Center, girls and young women will receive counseling, trauma care, and vital health services such as PEP, emergency contraception, STI treatment, and forensic support. They will also gain business, leadership, and human rights training to achieve independence.
The project will create lasting change by empowering over 3,000 young women and adolescent girls who are survivors of gender-based violence to become confident, self-reliant, and financially stable. Through business and leadership skills training, they will start small ventures or secure employment, improving their livelihoods and supporting their families.
