Vietnam not-for-profit organizations (NPOs) are understaffed, underfunded and relatively new, which limits their ability to help disadvantaged groups. The Build a Home for NPOs project will fund LIN's core services aimed at educating & empowering local NPOs. This includes creating a shared community resource center for NPOs to operate from, something many desperately require for survival.
Everyone needs a home. In the current landscape, an increasing number of startup not-for-profit organizations (NPOs) in Ho Chi Minh City are finding it difficult to secure funding to help their beneficiaries, let alone enough to acquire a physical office space. Without a place to conduct meetings, research and general operations, NPOs in Vietnam fight an incredibly uphill battle to create the economic and social development they seek.
LIN offers a new home that serves as a free, multi-purpose community center which NPOs can use as needed - a physical office complete with a library, research center and room for LIN to conduct trainings, meetings and one-on-one consultations, host community networking events and also provide room for NPOs to use for their own operations. Our goal is to develop a central hub in Ho Chi Minh City that also offers the technical, financial and logistical support NPOs currently lack.
LIN's new home will provide a foundation for +260 local NPOs to build upon in order to help over 3.000 people this holiday season, including homeless children, abandoned elderly, people battling with physical and mental disabilities, victims of human trafficking, impoverished groups and countless other disadvantaged individuals. The stronger the foundation of our shared home, the more lives we can all provide shelter for!
