Build a Safe Haven For Abused Victims in Ghana

We are grateful to share another update from our Build a Safe Haven Project, focused on creating safety, stability, and hope for women and children affected by domestic and partner abuse.

Thanks to the support of our donors and community, we have continued providing monthly support to Silver and her children to assist with school-related expenses and basic educational needs. This ongoing support is helping ensure that her children remain in school and continue their education in a more stable environment.

We are also excited to share that we have successfully completed and paid for the official architectural building plan for our future women-led shelter and empowerment centre. This is a major milestone in our journey toward creating a safe space for women and children escaping abuse.

As we prepare for the first phase of construction, we are now working toward securing the necessary building permits and approvals from the local council, finalising site preparation, mobilising local support, and sourcing initial construction materials needed to begin the foundation stage of the project.

Our vision is to build more than a shelter. We aim to create a centre that will provide:

• Safe temporary accommodation
• Counselling and emotional support
• Skills training and economic empowerment opportunities
• Community education and prevention programmes

Our next goal is to raise enough funds to begin the first phase of construction and lay the foundation for this life-changing project.
