Severe infrastructure deficits and high temperatures create ongoing water stress across informal displacement settlements in Northern Aleppo. Responding to these urgent WASH needs, BESME INSANI completed an emergency clean water trucking project targeting remote camp communities. Through this campaign, our team distributed 360,000 liters of purified drinking water to 1,200 vulnerable households (~6,000 individuals).
Impoverished families in these rural sites frequently struggle to secure basic water for drinking, cooking, and personal hygiene. Heavy-duty water tankers filled from tested, chlorinated water stations navigated rough terrain to fill family storage containers and camp bladders directly at shelter locations.
Strict quality control procedures were enforced throughout the operation. Field officers tested water quality at filling stations and delivery points to ensure compliance with international humanitarian standards. Field staff also shared practical hygiene tips with residents to encourage safe water storage and prevent contamination.
Delivering clean water provides immediate health protection for infants and young children, preventing dehydration and intestinal illness. BESME INSANI extends its gratitude to humanitarian partners whose contributions support these life-saving water supply operations for displaced Syrian families.
