Amid scorching weather conditions and severe infrastructure deficits in Northern Aleppo, BESME INSANI completed a critical emergency water trucking initiative. The intervention focused on remote informal settlements and temporary shelter centers where water access is severely restricted. Through this project, our field teams distributed 360,000 liters of safe drinking water to 1,200 vulnerable households, reaching an estimated 6,000 individual beneficiaries.
Living under extreme poverty, displaced families in these settlements often struggle to meet their basic daily hygiene and hydration needs. To address this urgent gap, heavy-duty mobile tankers filled from tested, chlorinated water stations navigated difficult rural terrains to fill communal water bladders and individual household containers directly at shelter sites.
Standard operating procedures were rigorously enforced throughout the operational cycle. Field supervisors performed daily water quality assessments at the source and point of delivery to ensure full compliance with international WASH standards. Additionally, community engagement officers conducted brief hygiene awareness sessions during water delivery, emphasizing safe water storage practices to prevent contamination.
Access to clean water brings immediate relief to mothers caring for infants and young children, preventing dehydration and recurring intestinal infections. BESME INSANI extends its gratitude to humanitarian partners whose support enables our field teams to sustain life-saving water supply lines for displaced Syrian families during critical hardship.
