As we move into the final quarter of 2026, the Teach for Thailand community continues to grow - and so does the reach of our collective impact. As of September 1, 67 Fellows are serving in 45 schools across 17 provinces, reaching 9,962 students directly through our Fellowship program.
Behind these numbers are thousands of students gaining access to new opportunities, teachers bringing new energy and ideas into their classrooms, and communities working together to create better pathways for children and young people. At the same time, our growing network of Fellows and alumni continues to demonstrate that meaningful change can begin with one classroom and extend far beyond it.
Building a Stronger Pipeline of Future Leaders
This quarter, we reached an important milestone in our efforts to build the next generation of leaders committed to educational equity.
For Cohort 13, 109 candidates were selected following our Assessment Center, exceeding our 2026 target of 70 candidates. The strength and diversity of this year's applicant pool reflects growing interest in the Fellowship and in the opportunity to contribute to Thailand's education system.
Among selected candidates, 60% come from top 5 universities in Thailand, while the rest come from other universities across the country.This diversity is important to us because educational change requires leaders with different experiences, perspectives, and areas of expertise.
From September 1 through the end of October, 45 selected Fellows are participating in a two-month pre-service training program designed to prepare them for the realities of teaching and leading in underserved school communities. Through intensive training, practice, coaching, and reflection, Fellows are developing the skills they need to create classrooms where every student has the opportunity to learn and thrive.
Strengthening Learning Outcomes for Students
Our commitment is not only to reach more students, but to ensure they experience meaningful growth in both academic achievement and essential life skills.
Teach for Thailand assesses student academic growth annually to understand how students are progressing throughout the school year. The next round of student academic assessment is currently underway, with results expected in Q4.
These results will help us understand the progress students have made during the 2026 academic year and identify where additional support may be needed. Beyond academic outcomes, we continue to focus on the development of essential skills and character strengths that help students become more confident, resilient, collaborative, and capable of shaping their own futures.
Alumni Impact: "When One Classroom Becomes a System"
Our Fellows' impact does not end when their two-year Fellowship ends. Through our alumni community, the ideas, tools, and approaches developed in one classroom can continue to reach students across Thailand.
One example is Zeem's Alphabet, an approach developed by a former Fellow after she encountered students who were struggling to recognize and read the alphabet. What began as a solution for one classroom has since grown into a system reaching more than 2,000 students, including children in a school in Yala where Zeem herself has never taught.
Her story demonstrates what becomes possible when teachers are empowered not only to solve problems in their own classrooms, but also to develop solutions that can be shared, adapted, and sustained by others.

Looking Ahead
As we enter the final months of 2026, our priority remains quality, sustainability, and long-term impact. Expanding access to educational opportunity is important, but lasting change depends on developing exceptional leaders, strengthening schools, and creating pathways for successful ideas to reach more students.
To achieve this, we are focused on:
Preparing the next generation of Fellows through intensive pre-service training that equips them with the knowledge, skills, practical tools, real-world perspective and mindset needed to serve effectively in underserved schools.
Strengthening classroom impact through rigorous training, coaching, and ongoing support that help Fellows build inclusive classrooms where students allow to express their interests and learn interactively to grow academically, socially, and emotionally.
Deepening partnerships with schools and communities to ensure that improvements in teaching and learning are responsive to local needs and can be sustained over time.
Expanding alumni pathwaysthat enable former Fellows to drive change through school leadership, policy, social innovation, education initiatives, and other high-impact sectors by consistently enaging with schools and communities.
Learning from evidence by using our annual student assessment and program data to continuously improve not only the Fellowship but also to better understand the gaps in improvement and know what works for students and schools.
Every classroom we strengthen and every teacher we empower brings us one step closer to a future where every child in Thailand has access to a quality education and the opportunity to reach their full potential.
