Kilifi County is one of Kenya's poorest and most remote regions, with more than 70% of its population living below the poverty line. Families face daily hunger, live in makeshift housing, and walk hours for water. Invest in 20 households experiencing great need through a holistic "triad" approach: safe housing, clean water, and bicycle mobility. These simple, durable solutions provide the stability and security every family deserves, no matter where they call home.
In Kenya, 12-yr-old Nia lives with her family of 6. Her home is filled with love but the roof leaks, the dirt floor has roundworms, and snakes slip inside through gaps. Her day starts before sunrise with a 3-mile walk through the brush to get to school. Her younger siblings spend the day carrying water from miles away. Unfortunately, the water they gather often has bacteria & parasites. Nia's family is one of millions in Kenya who work hard every day - yet lack simple tools to meet basic needs.
Our holistic approach addresses three critical barriers simultaneously. Housing: Our homes have concrete floors, metal roofs, and locking doors for protection, so families can finally sleep safely. Water: We drill wells, providing reliable, safe water for the community. Sickness decreases, keeping children in school & parents at work. Families can also grow their own food. Bicycles: Each family is provided a bike - clean, sustainable transportation to get to school, work, and healthcare.
Ending poverty has no silver bullet, but for 30 years, we've listened to local leaders and provided what they need to move forward. The impact is immediate, but also generational: safe homes passed down, better health for children, & economic mobility. Because our overhead expenses are covered, we ensure 100% of every donation goes directly to program services. Equity & love for our neighbors are needed now more than ever. Your partnership builds strong foundations for years to come.
