Every child has the right to quality education, healthcare, and play. Through our holistic Education Programme, ISF is creating opportunities for disadvantaged Cambodian children living in poverty to enjoy these rights and build brighter futures.
49% of Cambodian children live in extreme poverty lacking access to healthcare, sanitation, nutrition, and education. In the urban slum communities ISF works in, most families survive on less than $2 a day which forces children to miss out on school in order to work to help financially support their families. Not only does this strip them of their childhood, but they often end up trapped in endless cycles of poverty. The ongoing impact of COVID-19 has pushed families deeper into deprivation.
ISF's accelerated Education Programme provides children who have never been to school or had to drop out, the opportunity to catch up on missed education and integrate into the state school system. To break down barriers to education, ISF continues to support them for as long as they remain in education. This holistic support includes school fees, uniforms, monthly family food parcels, healthcare, and sports, alongside English and IT lessons, extra-curricular activities, and employment support.
Breaking barriers to school through our holistic programme of support, ISF gives nearly 700 students the foundation of a quality education, improves their health and nutrition, builds their confidence, and offers the tools needed to lift themselves and their communities out of poverty. A donation from you will make a fundamental and lasting change to the lives of some of the most disadvantaged children and their families. Together, we can make a difference one child at a time.
