During this time of lockdown due to the COVID-19 pandemic we at Casa sin Fronteras have found different ways to continue our projects and services. The Incubadora Semillas, our microbusiness incubator program, was running its fifth cycle when it had to be interrupted in March 2020. We sent a questionnaire to our 12 participants to know the status of their business ideas and identify their current needs. Four businesses had already started operations or were ready to start, so we began an individualized online coaching process with them. These four microbusinesses are the following:
The other 8 businesses are in preliminary stages of development. To help all of them to further improve their business skills we held two workshops, via Zoom platform:
We were able to celebrate a graduation ceremony via Zoom platform to close this fifth cycle of Incubadora Semillas. It was heartwarming to listen the experiences and growth of all 12 entrepreneurs. Each one of them received a certificate stating the contact hours of training and coaching in the program.
During the following months we will continue to support the four microbusinesses established with individual coaching. For this new year we are planning new approaches to continue helping to boost microbusinesses in Puerto Rico. We are very grateful for your support and the GlobalGiving partnership.
