Here are our latest news.
First of all I would like to heartily thank each of you for participation on GlobalGiving’s campaign September 16 – we’ve collected in total with the bonus from Globalgiving - 2 126 $! It’s a great result! Thanks to your support new academic year begins!
Also I would like to tell you about our students.
Students of "Big Change" are students and graduates of closed, specialized institutions for orphans. Some of them are still living in orphanages, others are under foster care. They all are of different ages: teenagers of 13-14 years old, boys and girls from 16 to 21, and young people from 20 to 30 (and sometimes even older). Each of them got different experience associated with education: it was general education, or correctional program (for children with congenital developmental defects), the rest were without any kind of regular, steady education. However, they all shared one desire; they applied to the "Big Change" with the intention to continue getting knowledge. Their requests usually sound like this: "I want to learn in order to pass exams, or to get access to the university, or to get a job, so, please, give me a chance”. During current 2015-2016 academic year we have: 14 guys – orphanage children, 8 guys – children from foster families, 41 people - orphanage graduates who now live independently, 10 guys – orphanage graduates who live in closed institutions like mental houses.
To continue our work we need your help! Raised funds will allow people from waiting list to participate in our programs.
From Monday, September 21st through Friday, September 25th, GlobalGiving will be offering a one-time 100% match on all new recurring donations up to $200 per donor! To qualify for the match, donors must give at least four consecutive months.
