Today I want to tell you about our student Sasha.
Sasha Ch. is 17 years old, he lives in foster family, he is a 10 grade school student. Sasha dreams to get access to the university in order to become a manager. He studies at the “Big Change” the third academic year. This year he obtained mentors’ support in math, Russian language in order to pass the final exam and social studies.
Last year, orphanage school system were reformed, children were transferred to public schools, which caused a lot of difficulties in adaptation to the new place. Sasha had to acclimatize to new teachers, classmates and requirements. He could not orientate on the math lesson: he even couldn’t find the difference between geometry and algebra. In addition, after passing through the final exams of the previous year, Sasha was fatigued and absent – minded, so that it was quite difficult to overcome new challenges.
Gradually, thanks to the teachers of "Big Change", the situation began to improve - Sasha succeeded to orient and adapt to a school and began to set educational goals: he was studying hard and always had a specific questions regarding to topics, he took the initiative to learn to write essays on the Russian language for final exam and understood the importance of homework , he began to teach math formulas and even asked for a list of literature to be read in summer.
The next academic year, Sasha plans to finish school, to choose the university and to be ready for matriculation. The main strategy for Sasha is to be ready for final exam, his slogan is: "Work hard - it helps to be in a good shape and succeed a lot".
