Hello,
We wanted to send you a huge thank you for your precious help in financing and giving for our yearly project « Help & relieve paients, caregivers, carers ».
Your nearly 2 000 euros donations definitively helped the Laurette Fugain association to fund many workshops this year.
The context was very particular again this year, with the covid pandemic continuing to seriously disrupt services and involving increased needs to accompany patients and relatives, all of whom are very isolated and exhausted. The hospital also came out even more weakened, and the caregivers even more solicited.
In this context, the association's programs have changed and are still changing the situation.
As an example, your donations have allowed us to close the budget to launch the socio-aesthetics program in pediatrics at the hospital in Tours: the children will be able to benefit from an accompaniment for 3 hours a week!
The latest project launched thanks to you: another program of socio-aesthetics in individual sessions at the Oudot hospital in Bourgoin Jaillieu, twice a month.
Your donations have made a difference and will continue to do so.
We have just received new needs from hospitals:tell those around you that your donation has made a difference and that their help is precious to the patients and families.
Congratulations again and thank you for your solidarity!
Let's stay in touch if you wish: www.laurettefugain.org or ronanjaffre@laurettefugain.org.
Best regards,
Ronan
Dear Friend,
Since our last message, we had the opportunity to fund new projects all aroud the country.
Thus, we have conducted a major tour of all the hematology departments in France in order to collect their needs: renewal of activities or implementation of new programs, the projects are numerous!
We are delighted with this vitality, after 2 years of difficulties related to the pandemic.
There are nearly 250 000 euros worth of projects!
We will therefore continue our collection in order to respond to the maximum needs expressed by caregivers for patients and relatives.
A huge thank you for your support... you can extend it by talking around you about this beautiful dynamic: each workshop costs between 40 and 80 euros, so each donation can make a difference!
Bravo to all and thank you in advance for your support, your energy, your heart to bring Hope to those who need it so much.
Ronan
Thanks to your donations, the association was able to launch several workshops recently!
Despite the pandemic, or better said because the needs have increased, Laurette Fugain Association continues to fund new workshops dedicated to patients at hospital.
Thus, recently, we financed socio-aesthetics workshops for young patients and teenagers at the Bordeaux hospital, led by a professional: Camille Mathieu.
These workshops bring comfort, relaxation and escape (drawings on arms/legs, nails...), but above all they allow to find a positive relationship with one's body in a delicate period (adolescence), and help manage skin problems, eyebrow reconstruction, hair prostheses...
Many other workshops are in the works to help patients heal better.
A session costs an average of $50: make a difference for patients now!
Thanks to you, Beatrice is leading a tailor-made art therapy project in the Hematology/Oncology Intensive Care Unit of the Mignot Hospital.
The care team informs Beatrice of the patients' requests and of particular situations (low morale, tensions with the staff...), so that Beatrice can prepare the workshops in the room as well as possible.
1/ Getting to know each other
"I take the time to start a dialogue, sometimes based on the feelings of the announcement of the disease, sometimes by evoking memories of artistic activities or by presenting reproductions of works of art. Some want to talk about their hobby, others about their medical journey.
Through my proposal, it is a question of finding oneself without being reduced to one's illness. To regain control of one's life for a few moments."
2/ Objectives
*To take a break from the daily routine of care, which is very heavy: anxiety, fatigue, depression... the workshop allows you to disconnect.
*Express your emotions, verbalize to take a step back.
*Find confidence in yourself, pleasant and playful sensations, let yourself be surprised, escape.
=> It is also a way to communicate differently with loved ones or caregivers
"Mr. C, 30 years old, has 2 young children. He is worried about losing the link. I suggest him to make a colored task, then to improvise... the profile of an Indian chief appears, he invents a story on the back of the sheet. Delighted, he entrusted the drawing to his wife who slipped it under his son's pillow .... "
Regularity and continuity over time are essential to the proper functioning of this device. Your support and that of your loved ones will make the difference with the patients.
Thanks to our generous donors, the association was able to launch two new workshops recently! This is the case of Mélanie, who is now working in two hemato-oncology departments of the hospital in Dunkirk for one year.
Mélanie says: "Being a socio-aesthetician allows me to combine my passion for aesthetics with a more humanistic approach: taking care of people going through a difficult period of life in a different way, with kindness and empathy. Being attentive to the needs, available, patient and comforting, all these values allow me to put the other person in the first place in order to bring him/her well-being and valorization. This is a job where I give a lot but I receive so much! "
Supportive care is for both women and men. They take care of the consequences of cancer and its treatments. The socio-aesthetician's advice is designed to help compensate for the transformations undergone by the body and regain self-esteem.
Many other workshops are in the works to help patients heal better.
A session costs an average of $50: make a difference for patients now!
