YCAB Rank 35 TOP 500 World – Together We Can Do More.

Thanks to you out there on GlobalGiving for supporting us over the years, without your love and kindness we would not be able to make such a big difference to so many young lives.

We value your support and would ask of you to tell your friends, workmates, soc med circles about us and what we do. there are too many young people in this world that need a helping hand, with you helping us, we can help many, many more.

YCAB’s number 74 entry into the NGO Advisors Top 500 world category in 2013 was awesome. Entering so high in our first year was a tremendous inspiration for us to keep pushing forwards, to keep innovating, to keep learning and to become better. Six years on; we are not quite yet a household name but we are in the midst of esteemed company. Brac, Oxfam, Skoll Foundation, World Vision, Save the Children, Grameen Foundation and Mercy Corps.

It is through the sheer hard work and dedication by our staff and volunteers. The trust and belief in us by our donors and sponsors. The research and due diligence by the NGO Advisor team. And the collective vision by so many who have supported us since 1999.

After 20 long hot and hard days in the saddle Mr Scott Thompson has crossed the finish line and thousands of children will be able to gain an education because of his efforts, we cannot express in mere words what you have done for the youth of Indonesia. In the end, the Becakterus fund raising campaign has raised over Rp6.6 Billion, with addition of a final cheque presented on Friday night for Rp980 million. Total $494,428.70 This is an astonishing sum of money, far and beyond our wildest expectations. Thank you!

Please stay safe and stay well.

Signing off, for the last time…

Much love, Becakterus.

Well Day 20 has arrived and the Hero of the poorest of Indonesian children has just made it back to his home city of Jakarta. After a journey that has been filled with high points and low points, pain and discomfort, much laughter and a few tears, Mr Scott Thompson has completed his ultra rickshaw ride that started 20 days ago at the Tsunarmi museum in Banda Ache. In those 20 long and arduous days enduring 30 degree heat, smog from forest fires, physical, and mental pressure, Scott pushed himself to help the most impoverished of Indonesia's youth, he has travelled through 21 large towns and cities in 7 diverse provinces in Sumatra and Java covering a staggering 2,601 kilometers (1,616 Miles) All in the name of providing Education to thousands of youths through YCAB Foundations 67 houses of learning. All funds raised from this event are so badly needed to keep these houses open, so the most needy children can gain an education and have a real chance at a decent life, your donations are well recieved, please keep on donating to this most worthy cause, we do not ask you to ride a rickshaw for 1,616 miles, we just ask for a single act of kindness by way of a small donation, One grain of rice does not make a meal, but one handfull will keep you alive another day. one dollar here and one dollar there soon adds up to do some real help and provide for so many for so long. The world needs more Scott Thompsons, donate today and you will join in spirit, with one of this worlds kindest men.

For and on behalf of YCAB Foundation and the youth of Indonesia we say. Mr Scott Thompson. Thank you for giving us inspiration to continue in what we do, and we hope you have inspired many more people to join with you in your kindness and generosity.

A Hero's welcome
A Hero's welcome

Well its day 16 of Mr Scott Thompsons New 'Guinness World Record' Rickshaw ride and with only 5 more painfully arduous days in the saddle, Scott's ultra marathon fundraiser will be over. He will end his 2,600 kilometer journey by entering the City of Jakarta on Sunday 18th October 2015 at 'The Breeze' in BSD city complex. He has endured the last 5 days riding his Rickshaw through the dibilitating smoke caused by the rampant forest fires. YCAB's hearts go out to the thousands of people who have to live daily in these unhealthy areas of Indonesia and we pray for an end to this annual occurrence, so much so that YCAB and Mr Scott are going to use some of the funds generated from this event to help the poorest people in the affected areas. YCAB Foundation would like to once more applaud this monumental feat of fundraising by one man. It is not too late to donate to this truly worthy cause, just click on the button, press a few more buttons and thats it! So simple, so please donate. Thousands of uneducated children will get the chance to go back to school thanks to this mans efforts, please do not let him stand alone, join with him in changing the lives of many thousands of children, your gift will give hope, education, job skills and the chance of a better life, for not just one generation, but for genreations to come.

Thank you.
