Encouraging Self-Care Through Guided Workshops

By Lesley Lowden-Smith | Trust Income & Operations Manager

Thank you so much for your continued generosity and belief in our work. We’re excited to share a short update on the progress of our self-care workshops for young people living with and beyond cancer.

Since our last update, we’ve been preparing for the upcoming delivery of a new digital workshop focused on breathing and mindfulness. These carefully designed sessions will introduce young people to guided breathing techniques, mindfulness practices, and the importance of creating space in their lives for rest, reflection, and inner calm.

As with all our workshops, this session goes far beyond the time in which it takes place. Young people will leave not only with practical tools to help manage stress, anxiety, and overwhelm, but also with a renewed understanding of the importance of taking time for themselves—to unwind, recharge, and connect with others who truly understand their journey.

What makes these moments so powerful is that they are shared. The sense of connection and belonging created in these sessions can be just as healing as the techniques themselves. The relationships formed and the knowledge gained continue to support their wellbeing long after the session ends.

Thank you once again for helping to make this possible. Your support is empowering young people to prioritise their wellbeing, build resilience, and take meaningful steps toward a more confident future.
