Project Report July2026

By Maria Polanco | Project Leader

Dear Friends and Supporters,

Thank you for standing by the Children of Venezuela. Your generosity continues to make a profound difference in the lives of some of the most vulnerable children in our country, and we are honored to share this update on the impact your support is making on the ground.

— HOSPITAL OPERATIONS: DAILY CARE FOR HOSPITALIZED CHILDREN —

At the Hospital de Niños de Valencia, our team continues to show up every single day — not just with supplies, but with presence, compassion, and commitment. Thanks to your support, we are currently providing:

• Nutrition Program: Daily nutritious meals delivered to hospitalized children, ensuring that even the most critically ill patients receive adequate nourishment to support their recovery. Food insecurity remains one of the greatest challenges facing hospitalized children in Venezuela, and your donations help us bridge that gap every day.

• Surgical Support Kits: We have been providing surgical supply kits to support children undergoing operations at the hospital. These kits include essential items such as sterile gloves, sutures, surgical drapes, antiseptics, and other critical materials that are often unavailable through the hospital's own limited resources. Every kit means a child can receive the surgery they need safely.

• Daily Essential Supplies: Our team distributes daily supplies to hospitalized children and their families, including diapers, face masks, gauze, IV supplies, antiseptic solutions, disposable gloves, and basic hygiene products. These items, while seemingly simple, are critical to preventing infections and maintaining dignified care for children who may spend weeks or months in the hospital.

• Emergency Pediatric Response: On average, we are impacting approximately 60 children per day through emergency interventions — children who arrive at the hospital in acute crisis, often with no family resources to support their care. Our team ensures these children are not left without food, medicine, or basic supplies during their most critical moments.

— EDUCATION PROGRAMS: CLOSING THE SCHOOL YEAR ON A HIGH NOTE —

We are thrilled to share that we are concluding this school year with outstanding results across the four schools where Friends of the Children of Venezuela operates in Venezuela.

• Robotics Program: Our robotics program has been a resounding success this year. Children who had never interacted with technology before are now designing, building, and programming their own robots. The program has ignited a passion for science, technology, engineering, and math in hundreds of children, opening doors to futures they had never imagined possible. We are incredibly proud of every student who participated and of the teachers who made this possible.

• Literacy Program — Leo, Juego y Aprendo: Our reading and literacy initiative, Leo, Juego y Aprendo (I Read, I Play, I Learn), has transformed the learning experience for hundreds of children this year. Through play-based learning methods, children who struggled with reading at the beginning of the year are now reading with confidence and joy. This program addresses one of the most critical educational gaps in Venezuela today, and the results this year have exceeded all our expectations.

As we close this school year, we do so with enormous pride in our students, our teachers, and our communities — and with renewed determination to return in September stronger than ever.

— THANK YOU —

None of this would be possible without you. Every dollar you have given has traveled all the way to Venezuela — to a child in a hospital bed, to a family displaced by an earthquake, to a student discovering the joy of reading or the thrill of robotics for the very first time.

You are a Super Friend for the children of Venezuela. Thank you.
