Dear friends, we raised funds throughout 2012-2015 for the renovation of our facilities and in September 2015 we raised funds for the bathroom renovation, and now the work has started and the project is doing very well. We would like to share with you our progress.
The work started in December 2015 and the plan is to complete renovations of the inside rooms and hallway in about one month's time, depending on weather. We have enough funds to fix the roof, to complete the construction of the toilets, to build the therapy room and condition it for kinetic therapy, rehab physical therapy, ball pool, and other therapy equipment. A sensory room will be established in a previously renovated room in the same building.
Through a partnership with some friends, our children are currently receiving therapy sessions in a separate building across the street. This operation will soon move to the newly renovated facility. Then we will start the arduous task of getting all the equipment necessary and finish some elements of the project that were not possible during this phase.
The renovation project with the Steaua Calauza NGO is becoming a success. We have many donors and great people/volunteers partnering with us to reach the final goal: Opening of the Center for disabled Children and Youth "NICUSOR" in Gratietsti, Moldova. The name "NICUSOR" was selected in memory the Nicu, Viorica's son. Viorica is the NGO's founder and Nicu is our inspiration for this project. His story is here:
