Triple Triplets....
By Catharina van den Bosch | Founder/Director
Triplets 1
We are so incredibly grateful to our faithful donors. You have no idea what impact your donation has on th lives of many babies who would not survive without the lifesaving support We are able to give.
Last week not one, not two but THREE sets of triplets were referred to us for baby milk support. We were able to assist the needy families. One mother had not survived the birth, two mothers were not able to produce enough breastmilk. One of the two mothers had also some psychological issues and this resulted in the babies not receiving the care they needed and we have taken these babies on a temporary basis while the mother is receiving counselling. 2 of these babies are currently in hospital as they were malnourished.
Thank you again for making it possible for us to help these needy babies and their families!

Babies in need
By Catharina van den Bosch | Founder/Director
Meet farmer Gebremeskel. He is a now a father of four children. He was quite shocked when his wife told him that she was pregnant with their fourth child. It worried him as his last harvest had failed and he was scrambling to feed his family. He took on the occasional daily labor job which provided enough to feed his family one meal a day. How was he going to feed another mouth? He was stressed and he when he watched his wife who was so thin even when her pregnancy progressed.
When it came time for delivery she was weak and the delivery didn't progressas expected and lasted for many hours before the baby finally arrived. Unfortunately his wife did not survive the delivery. Leaving him a widower with four children. If he had already problems feeding his family one meal a day, how could he afford buying tins of baby formula. He managed to beg a little bit of money from family and friends to buy one tin of formula which he used sparingly while he observed the deteriorating health of his new born baby.. He feared that it wouldn't be long before he would loose her.
A story we encounter on a regular basis and we are so thankful for your assistance which helps us to assist 50 babies every month. It takes the stress away from the family and it keeps the baby healthy. On behalf of their families a heartfelt thank you!

The babies keep coming.....
By Catharina van den Bosch | Founder/Director
In 2023 we have been able to assist at least 118 babies to survive through their first year of life. We had hoped that things would slow down in 2024 but also this year we have a high demand for our services....
As the economic recovery after the war is not happening for many people and the lack of food supplies is currently creating more and more preoblems which especially affects the pregnant women who may end up in a bad shape nutritionally during their pregnancy, resulting in babies with low-birth rates and the mothers being malnourished and stressed which results in a problems with producing enough breast milk. As the health facilities are still poorly equipped there is still a high number of women who die in childbirth.
The need for baby formula remains and we can't thank you enough for your faithful contribution towards this. It eneables us to keep the babies in their family and assist them through the difficult first year of their life. To see babies thrive is what we love to see and on behalf of all the families and babies that we have been able to assist on your behalf we thank you very much and we hope that you will remain with us through 2024 as well!
